DK Congress candidate Padmaraj to file nomination on April 3: Ramanatha Rai

Mangaluru, April 01, 2024: Congress Election Campaign Committee in-charge and former minister Ramanatha Rai has said that the party’s Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha candidate Padmaraj R Poojary will file his nomination on April 3 at 11 am.

 

 

Speaking to reporters at the Congress Bhavan on Monday, Rai said prior to filing his nomination, Padmaraj will visit places of worship of different faiths.

A procession will be taken out from Kudroli shrine at 9.30 am on April 3 and the  procession will conclude near AB Shetty Circle after passing through Alake, New Chitra Talkies, Temple Square, GHS Road, University College Road, Clock Tower and Town Hall Road.

He said Padmaraj was chosen as the Congress candidate with consensus and there is no question of any difference of opinion.

Rai claimed that the district had seen phenomenal growth during the times of Congress MPs and said the BJP MPs have not contributed anything. He questioned why Nalin was not given a ticket despite claims that he was the No.1 MP and had secured grants worth crores of rupees.

Party leaders Shashidhar Hegde, Mithun Rai, Naveen D’Souza, Ibrahim Kodijal and others were present.
