Mangalore, Sep 7: The Cyber Café Owners and the district police jointly held an interactive session on security at cyber cafes at the commissionerate office on September 6, Monday. 

 

 

 

 

 

Krishna Swami, the head of retails at Indeacts Innovations Pvt. Ltd. said on the occasion that security issues at cyber cafes is of paramount importance owing to the fact that 47 percent of India’s Internet users access the Internet at cyber cafes.

Elaborating on security issues at cyber cafes, he said that the owners of cyber cafes lack practical solutions to store visitor information and cyber café management. A software programme called CLINCK Cyber Café Manager helps cyber owners deal with various aspects of cyber café management such as accounting, terminal management, and user data storage, he informed. It will also enable cyber café owners to provide law enforcement agencies maximum information regarding digital photo capture.

 Revealing further details regarding the software, he said that cyber cafes in Mangalore can use this software free of cost, enhance user experience, and assist national security forces. The software enables easy, fool proof, and transparent implementation of cyber café regulations and rules under the IT Act. Visitors will be required to register an account to gain access to the Internet and will receive an all India login ID. A registered user can provide the same username at all partner cafes in India without providing the same information repeatedly.

CLINCK servers will back up all the data and information including photos, photo ID, address, contact details, and others. Moreover, CLINCK facilitates effective terminal management, generation of reports, inventory management, easy deployment, and usability.

Prominent police officers such as Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh participated in the interactive session.
