Contest from DK constituency, Poojari challenges Modi

Mangalore, Mar 10, 2014 : Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojari who had challenged Gujarat CM Narendra Modi to visit Mangalore prior to the previous Assembly elections, has now challenged Modi who is also the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate to contest from Dakshina Kannada constituency.

Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on March 10, Monday, Poojari who is the Congress candidate from DK constituency after he won the Party Primaries,  said  it would be better if Modi contests from DK rather than opting Varanasi which is the  home constituency of senior BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi.

Poojari further said people of the  DK Constituency would not approve of Modi and would prove it  through their votes, if  the latter contests from here.

Poojari  further launched a scathing attack on Modi for   keeping the world in the dark about his estranged wife and questioned how a person who has not accepted his marriage can prove a worthy prime minister.

Commenting on the  Yettinahole Project, Poojari declared that he would not allow the implementation of the project come what may. He said the water problem of  dry lands can be solved in various other ways and any project which is not acceptable to the people should not be implemented.
