Mangalore, July 16, 2014:  Mangalore City Traffic Police on July 17  taken serious action and penalised over 25 buses private and KSRTC  for irresponsible hooting of horns in the city.


According to reports, Rs.100, was charged for frequency above 75 decibels. It is reported that over 35 buses were detained. The confiscated high volume horns were crushed under the wheels of buses to prevent re use.

The police also took action against  autorickshaw drivers for similar abuse of horns. A bike rider was charged too and  riding on the wrong side.


The traffic police of Mangalore are duly equipped with costly decibel level meters now.


The police action is seen at many important junctions of Mangalore city.
