Car Street is in total mess. Now, the water line is being laid in the drain!

Mangalore, Feb 2: The road widening work of Car street is done and inaugurated with fanfare and big publicity. Footpath is too high to climb; pavement is too uneven and scary. The drain and water duct are half done. Now, the water line is being laid in the dirty drain. Wonder what will happen, when the drain water get into the water line?

 

 

Some pictures taken from the spot of water line work being done at Car Street will show the expertise of MCC engineers. The spot is right in front of the Gokarna Math. Both the drain and waterline duct are filled with filth and dirty water. No one is bothered about the future risks or filthy water getting mixed up with the drinking water.

 

The footpaths constructed along the car street poses danger for the pedestrians as the height of the footpaths is too high to climb and too dangerous to walk. Haphazardly laid food path over the newly constructed deep drain is indeed a deathtrap waiting for the victims. God knows, how many accidents will take place in the days to come. May Lord Venkatramana protect the pedestrians from falling into drains and road accidents!   

Future Shock

In two months time, rain would arrive and  Car Street will be the most flooded street in the city and would create the worst havoc in fifty years.  Hope the City Corporation will realize soon and make necessary changes and rectifications so as to save people from all kinds of mishaps.
