Boat capsize in Malpe : Body of missing baby traced

Udupi, May 21, 2013 : The body of a two year old baby which had drowned in a boat capsize at Malpe beach on May 19, Sunday, has been found.

malpe 1 The baby named Hithesh from a family in Bangalore, which was in its mother’s arms had fell into the seas when the boat capsized due to strong wind, just as they were alighting from the boat. Though all other 16 persons who were in the boat were rescued the child could not be traced. After an intensive search throughout the night the body of the baby was found in mid seas the next day.

As already reported, it is said the accident took place due to the negligence of the boat owner Narayana who had taken 16 persons in the boat with a capacity to carry just 12 persons. Moreover, the district administration had also banned boating activities in view of impending monsoons.

The mishap took place when the Prasanna Gowda family from Doddaballapur had come on a holiday to Malpe.
