Mangalore, Jan 12, 2014: Women should not seek protection considering it as an alm, but as their right. Any government which fails to ensure a secure environment for the women has no right to remain in power, said former MP Tejaswini Ramesh.

She was participating  in a Round Table Conference on ‘Safe Woman-Healthy Society’ organised by the Mangalore unit of ABVP in the city on January 11, Saturday. Atrocities on women, be it of any nature, should always invite stringent punishment. There should be no politics on this issue. “If the government fails in its duty in this regard, then it may even force women to take law into hands,” she warned.
