Allegation of sexual harassment; case filed against the school teacher

Moodbidri, Mar 15, 2024: A case of sexual harassment has been registered against a teacher of a government-aided school in Kalamundkur.

The accused has been identified as Guruva Mogera, a resident of Dharmasthala in Belthangady taluk.

 

Sadananda, the headmaster of the school, informed the Moodbidri police station about the sexual harassment of the female students of class 10 by teacher Guruva Mogera.

In his complaint, he informed that, "On February 28, some female students of class 10 came and told that they were having trouble with their teacher Guruva Mogera. When they approached Guruva regarding academic matters or to submit leave application, he behaves rudely and makes inappropriate gestures, as reported by the students."

In this context, the school principal has expressed a desire to take appropriate legal and disciplinary actions against Mr. Mogera, who allegedly subjected students to sexual harassment.

A case was registered regarding the incident on March 12 and the police said that they prepared an FIR and submitted it to the court on March 12.

However, the locals have alleged that the accused has not been arrested so far.
