All eyes now on next year’s LS polls : Will Congress field Poojari from Mangalore ?

Mangalore, May 16, 2013 : Now that the Assembly elections are over and the Congress government has been formed, political parties are eying the Parliamentary elections of 2014.

If the Congress camp is still in an elated mood, the BJP camp is busy conducting an introspection on the factors that led to the defeat.

Meanwhile, there are reports that senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhan Poojari who was instrumental in the party’s win in the ULB elections and Assembly elections in the district, was likely to be the party candidate.

Moreover, Vinaykumar Sorake who was also an aspirant for an MP ticket, is now an MLA from Kaup constituency, and there may be little opposition to Poojari’s candidature, say sources within the party. However, that may not be the case, if Veerappa Moily, presently the union petroleum minister decides who is now representing Doddaballapur, may decide to contest from Mangalore.
