After viral video, MCC officials shut down stall making matka soda using contaminated water

Mangaluru, Oct 24, 2023: Health officials of the Mangaluru City Corporation have taken steps to shut down a stall selling Matka  soda which was prepared reportedly by using contaminated water at one of the stalls put up on account of Dasara celebrations at Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatha shrine.

 

The action by MCC officials followed a viral video that showed that  the Matka pots were washed in contaminated water and the staff there were chewing tobacco and were also spitting in the water used for cleaning purposes.

The MCC officials also undertook a check of cleanliness at other stalls and warned of action if anyone failed to maintain hygiene.
