Mangalore, June 16, 2014 :  In  a shocking case reported from Koorikatta near Baikampady, an elderly man has attempted to molest a seven year old girl.


minor 16The accused has been identified as  Hanumanthappa (70)  hailing from Kolar.


It is said on June 15, Sunday, Hanumanthappa who was a neighbour of the girl had taken her to his house and tried to molest her. The girl  raised a cry and neighbours  who rushed to the spot  gave Hanumanthappa a good thrashing. The man  was injured when he  fell in his hurry to escape.

The victim’s mother has lodged a complaint with Panambur police. It is learnt, the accused, a daily wager owned six houses in the area and the girl’s family was residing in one of the houses as his tenants.
