Mangaluru, Feb.04, 2023: The novel "Vectors in the Void" enjoyed a formal release in the home city of the author, Giselle Mehta at a  book party event held at Mangalore Club, on February 03, 2023.

The author introduced the novel to the audience detailing the immense research that went into writing a story whose early setting is in pre- Partition India. She  hoped readers would each find a point of connection with a  page turning plot, strong themes and the intricate  crafting that holds together the story’s many elements, its time periods  and locations.

A panel of literary experts analyzed the book for the audience. Professor Maria D’Costa, playwright and public speaker focused on the author’s exceptional use of language  and insightful philosophies as inspiring and stimulating. Ms Matilda Pinto, author of the novel  "Fisticuffs of the Soul" delved into the female characters in Ms Mehta’s  novel and how interestingly they are portrayed. Dr Ganesh Pai, globally renowned dematologist and author of his recent autobiography opined that the novel made for a scintillating read.

Dr Urmila Shetty,  was in  conversation with her former student,  appreciating the  innovative techniques that make reading the book  an enriching experience. Readers’ responses by Ms Matharani Mathias and Mr Lawrence D’’Costa offered personal feedback on how they related to the novel. Mr Shankar Narayan and Mr Dharmendra Mehta  shared perspectives on the author’s persona.

Ms Vidya Shenoy compered the program. The evening concluded with the author autographing purchased copies of her book.

 

About Giselle Mehta

Giselle Mehta has Masters’ degrees in International Relations and English Literature. For 10 years, she was an officer in the Indian Revenue Service. Thereafter, she made the shift to personal independence and the stimulation of a creative life.

Her diverse interests and immersions shape her fiction. It reflects the passions and animations of an ever-evolving persona.

Her debut novel ‘Blossom Showers’ was on the bestseller list for fiction with the Landmark chain of bookstores in India in 2011.

‘Vectors in the Void’ is her second novel.
