In her petition with the Women’s Commission, Srikala  has alleged that the ACP was constantly harassing her while she was on duty, during the past few months making it difficult for her to manage her duty as well as her commitments towards her family.

In her petition, Srikala has said the ACP used to show files unconnected to her by summoning her to his cabin and also reprimanding her while leaving with ‘about turn and quick march’ commands. She further has stated in her complaint that the officer not only denied her leave even if she produced medical certificates and submitted the same through superiors but also did not give her a weekly off.

The ASI further said the ACP questioned her why she could not opt for VRS when she had sought leave on August 21 this year for high fever. She also stated that when she brought the same to the notice of Pandeshwar inspector, he had advised her to ‘co-operate’ with the ACP who otherwise may continue to harass her.

Srikala said she had applied for leave on May 18 to visit her native place Kottayam and when the same was turned down, had met the ACP .who  not only confirmed that her leave was denied but also punished her with ’about turn, quick march’ command.
She also stated that much against customs the ACP pressurized her to be on point duty as well as rounds  during nights forcing her to leave her two children locked up at home from outside.

She further said she was not offered with vehicle facility while on night duty and was once bitten by a stray dog at Mahakalipadpu following which she had to be hospitalized

Meanwhile, Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar has said that a thorough probe would be undertake by the DCP (Law and Order) Mutturaya.
