‘Adya Gaud Brahman Sangha’ to host its second convention in the city

Mangalore, May 4, 2012: ‘Adya Gaud Brahman Samavesh-2012’ to be organized by the Adya Gaud Brahman Sangha ® at C V Nayak Hall near Bunts Hostel on May 6, Sunday, informed Sudharshan Prabhu K, Secretary of the committee, speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on May 4, Friday.

He said that there are around 1.5 lakh population present in different parts of the state like Belgaum, Ankola, Hubli, Udupi, Bangalore, Maharastra and Dakshina Kannada belonging to Adya Gaud Brahman community. The community people speak Konkani as their mother tongue language and work as farmers, labourers and are engaged in business. 

Speaking about the convention, he said that ‘Adya Gaud Brahman Samavesh-2012’ is the second convention hosted by the community in the city. The community has also organized blood donation camps, sports events and the special programme like ‘Halli Aata- Oota’ for the rural people.

He also said that Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda will inaugurate the event. Deputy Speaker N Yogesh Bhat,  BJP District president Padmanabha Kottary, Corporate Affairs director K L Rao, senior priest Kattanige Sanjeeva Bhat, Dr Jayaprakash and K Bharath Prabhu, president of Kudal Deshastha Adya Gaud Brahman Sangha, Udupi district will be the guest of honour. 

Praveen S Darbe, president of Kudal Deshastha Adya Gaud Brahman Sangha, Mangalore will preside over the convention.

Committee members Praveen S Darbe, Dr Praveen Nayak and Sanjay Prabhu were present at the press meet.
