Watch the Tharoor Speech On British Rule That’s Gone Viral

July 22, 2015: Congress parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor’s speech at Oxford Union Society has gone viral on social media.The speech is not new but Mr Tharoor’s arguments about why Britain owes reparations to India for 200 years of colonial rule.

He spoke of the impact of colonialism on the Indian economy and how India’s share of the world economy dropped from 23% to 4% as a result of British rule. The speech was peppered with digs at British practices
