Hyderabad, Mar 17, 2016:  Two students have been arrested by the Hyderabad Police for cheating during the Class 12 exams. Sheikh Aijaz was sitting for his class XII exams while his accomplice Samiullah, who is a B Tech second year student, helped Aijaz with the answers using a cell phone.

The duo got away with cheating for days because of the contraption they had created using a cell phone. But, their luck finally ran out because Aijaz got late one day and was caught by officials.

They had ordered the equipment they needed online, pasted a microchip on to Aijaz’s t-shirt and fitted a cell phone in his underwear.

The phone was switched on just before entering the examination call.

He would then use a Bluetooth-enabled earpiece to speak out the questions and Samiullah, waiting outside, would then respond with the answers.

The two successfully used the technique to cheat their way through the papers on March 9 and March 10. On March 12, Aijaz reached the exam centre late and was subjected to frisking by the officials supervising the exam. He was caught and handed over to the police. The police investigation revealed the entire modus operandi.

Panjagutta ACP Venkateswar Rao said Aijaz, 19, was familiar with cell phone hardware technology because he had worked at a shop selling mobile phones. He decided to put his knowledge acquired at the shop to compensate for what he lacked in the subjects he was being tested on.
