According to police, 10 people, including staff and customers, were injured in the blast that took place around 1 pm on Friday at Bengaluru’s Whitefield area.

The suspect, around 30 years old, came to the cafe with a bag, believed to be carrying the explosive, at around 11.30 am. He ordered rava idli at around 11.38 am and was captured on CCTV camera placed above a counter in the cafe.

However, he did not eat the food and was seen at the wash basin closet at around 11.44 am. A minute later, he was seen leaving the cafe. The explosive went off at around 12.56 pm.

Another CCTV footage showed the suspect walking towards the restaurant with the bag.

Police suspect that an improvised explosive device (IED) fitted with a timer inside a bag caused the low-intensity blast.

On Saturday, personnel from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guard (NSG) reached the spot to help the local police in their investigation.
