Larson Fernandes, Juhu-Koliwada resident and active civic activist, has quit Congress to join BJP.

Larson, a known name in Santacruz-Juhu-Koliwada area has been given the responsibility as Vice President, North-West District of the BJP. He was secretary of North West district of Congress. The benefit of new member entering the party will be in favour of MLA Ameet Satam during civic elections as Larson is well connected in the area.

"Our party’s policy of appeasement and discrimination against none is slowly understood by everyone. BJP works for the betterment and progress. And this fact is appreciated by people. Larson agreed to work with our team so that he can contribute to his community for betterment," said Satam.

"He is a well networked leader and has worked relentlessly. The party will definitely benefit with him joining the team," said Satam. "There were misconceptions in minds of people about BJP having biased approach towards particular communities but our party’s vision is ’sabkasaath, sabkavikas’ and we will take everyone along the road to development," said Satam.

When contacted Larson, he said that he was offered to join the party.  "I have nothing against Congress, but I want to work for my people and my area being in the system. After much thought I decided to join BJP and take things forward. There are several projects in the area which needs immediate attention apart from long term plans for our Koliwada," said Larson listing issues like retaining the graveyard from BMC, renewing the church lease, sanitisation, drainage lines, water scarcity among others.  Larson runs an NGO named ’Juhu angels’ which undertakes several projects in the area apart from political involvement.
