Ministers may give up posts to accommodate dissident MLAs

Bengaluru, Jan 20, 2019: More ministers, including newly inducted Housing Minister N. Nagaraj (MTB) have expressed their willingness to give up their ministerial berths to accommodate dissident MLAs in Karnataka.

This move following the uncertainty whether the BJP may go ahead with the plans to move the no-trust motion in the Assembly when the Budget session is convened.

Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah, on Saturday, has issued show cause notices to four MLAs – Ramesh Jarkiholi, B. Nagendra, Umesh Jadhav and Mahesh Kumathall – for abstaining from the State Legislature Party meeting on Friday.

Siddaramaiah also directed the four MLAs to return to their constituencies in view of the BJP trying to create dissidence in their constituencies.
KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao said “ We have no intention to take action against our MLAs. However we seek porper explanation from them for not attending the CLP meeting.

AICC General Secretary In-charge, Karnataka, K.C. Venugopal will interact individually with each MLA regarding Parliamentary elections, the issue which was discussed at the CLP meet, and a decision on future course of action will be taken said the KPCC President.
