Karnataka ’Catholic Health Association of India’ annual meet held

Shimoga, Sep 10, 2017: A press note received here says that the 25th Catholic Health Association of India, Karnataka Chapter (CHAI Karnataka) annual meeting was held in Shimoga recently.  MLA  J R Lobo, Mangalore South and Chairperson, Committee on Welfare of Backward Classes and Minority was the chief guest for the day.  MLA Lobo spoke about how the need to build people remains the most vital cause overall. He also acknowledged the fact that CHAI - Karnataka has been doing excellent work among the rural poor and the most deserving.

Dr. Edmond Fernandes, Founder and CEO, CHD Group and Member- Health Task Force, DDMA, Government of Karnataka was the resource person for the day who spoke on how the healing ministry of the church must strive for national integration and how the public health processes must be aligned together to create the country we strive to build by providing affordable and quality healthcare. Rev George Kannathanan, spoke about the Blindness project and what can be done to raise awareness.

The programme concluded with the presidential address from Rev. Bishop Joseph Arumachadath, the Eccelestiastical advisor to CHAI-Karnataka and Bishop of Bhadravati.  Rev Santhosh Dias, President, CHAI- Karnataka was among the others present.
