India reports 48,698 new Covid-19 cases, 1,183 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi, Jun 26, 2021: India reported 48,698 new Covid-19 cases and 1,183 deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the Union Health Ministry on Saturday. On the other hand, 64,818 patients recovered during the same time.Five states which registered maximum cases are Kerala with 11,546 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 9,604 cases, Tamil Nadu with 5,755 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 4,458 cases and Karnataka with 3,310 cases.

 

71.2 per cent of the new cases have been reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 23.71 per cent of the new cases.

Meanwhile, the maximum casualties were reported in Maharashtra (511), followed by Tamil Nadu with 150 daily deaths.

At present, the active caseload of the country is 5,95,565, declining by 17,303 in the last 24 hours. The active caseload has come below six lakhs after 81 days.

Meanwhile, with 64,818 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered patients has reached 2,91,93,085 on Saturday. India’s recovery rate now stands at 96.72 per cent.

17,45,809 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours. Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, India has tested over 40.18 crore samples.

India has administered a total of 61,19,169 doses in the last 24 hours, which took the total tally of doses administered to 31,50,45,926.
