The City, on Monday up to 8.30 am, recorded 0.4 mm rainfall, while KIA recorded trace rain (below 0.1 mm). The maximum and minimum temperatures in the City were 34.4 and 24.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. The maximum and minimum temperatures at HAL Airport on Monday were 34 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. At KIA, it was 34.7 and 24 degrees Celsius.

IMD-Bengaluru director incharge Sunder Mahadev Metri said that when there is cloud cover, the minimum temperature increases and maximum comes down. This will continue for the next couple of days.

In case of Chennai, Metri said, the sea absorbs the heat, so the temperature is less. There is lot of humidity and so, people feel the heat. Also there is a trough of low pressure from south of Chhattisgarh towards Comorin area and across Tamil Nadu and Rayalseema area. This has brought about a dip in temperature. This system does not cover south interior Karnataka, thus the temperature is higher in Bengaluru.
