3-year-old set ablaze for not giving way to 16-year-old biker

Hyderabad, October 5, 2016: Taking brutality to a new low, a three-year-old boy who failed to give way to his 16-year-old neighbour’s bike was set ablaze by the teenager in Kalapathar, Hyderabad.

The victim, Mohammed Ali Shair, is battling for life at the Osmania General Hospital

On Monday, Ali was playing in front of his house along with some other children when his neighbour, riding a bike, reached the spot. He shouted at the children, asking them to move away. According to the three-year-old’s parents, he could not understand what the accused said, and did not move from the spot.

Infuriated at this, the accused got down from his bike, poured petrol on the child, and set him ablaze.

His shocked friends raised an alarm. Ali was rushed to the hospital. He sustained burns on his neck, head, back and shoulder.

Based on the statement of the victim’s father, Mohammed Rahim, the police registered a case against the accused under Section 285. The minor is currently in detention.
