Mangaluru, September 25, 2018: When a teacher passionately dedicates himself to his profession, the result is the all-round development of his students. One such outstanding personality who has proved his excellence and has been the guiding light of his students is Dr. Prashanth Shetty. As the Principal of SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences and as  Residential Medical Officer of the SDM Yoga and Nature Care Hospital at Dharmasthala, Dr Shetty has excelled in more ways than one. The coveted Best Teacher Award of the Rajeev Gandhi University of Medical Sciences that has come his way speaks volumes about his significant contributions to the institution as well as his profession.

Incidentally, Dr Shetty who is an alumnus of SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences has been serving his alma mater since the past 25 years. He also has an MS and PhD from Swami Vivekananda Anusandhana Samsthana (Yoga University).

Dr Shetty is the recipient of the prestigious Dr BC Roy Best Doctor Award of the State Medical Education Department in the year 2010 and Vasishta Award given by SVYASA, Bengaluru.

Dr Shetty is on the Advisory Board for Naturopathy and Yoga of the Government of Karnataka and is Member of Academic Council and post graduate studies in Ayurveda in Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences.
