Mangaluru, Oct 9, 2021: Awareness about mental health and mental health protection are vital in the overall wellbeing of an individual. Striving towards this direction is Dr P K Kiran Kumar, an eminent psychiatrist.
Presently, serving as Professor in A J Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr Kiran has recently taken charge as the State Chapter President of the Indian Psychiatry Society after being elected to the top post at the Society’s 31st annual conference.
Dr.Kiran completed his MBBS and MD in Psychiatry from KMC Manipal and has served as Asst. Professor in KSHEMA and Fr Muller Medical College and as Associate Professor at Yenepoya Medical College, before joining A J Institute.
His fields of academic interest are de-addiction and rehabilitation and Community and Industrial Psychiatry. He has been the primary investigator in over 10 international clinical trials and has to his credit eight national and international publications in indexed journals.
Dr. Kiran Kumar has been a Fellow of Indian Psychiatric Society, President of Mangalore Psychiatric Society in 2013 and 2018, Central EC Member of Indian Medical Association, Mangaluru and Director of Community Service of Rotary Club Mangalore Central. He practices at A.K Neuropsychiatry and Counselling Centre at Falnir and Maryhill and at Kiran Rehabilitation Centre, Padavinangady and is Medical Director at Nalapad Rehabilitation Centre, Kasaragod.
