Principal of Ganapathy Pre University College Chandrakala Nandavara, who was the chief guest of its valedictory programme, spoke in appreciation of the rich history and glorious cultural and religious tradition of the Beary community.

Former President of the Karnataka Tulu Sahithya Academy M. Seetharam Kulal called upon Beary intellectuals to write in the Beary language. A language cannot be said to be inferior because it has no script because the international language English also has no script of its own, he said. He advised the Beary Academy to try making Beary an optional subject in schools.

MLA U. T. Khader said that the establishment of the Beary Academy was the first step toward the development of Beary language and culture.

President of the Beary Academy presided over the programme. Hamza Malar, the journalist, was also present. Registrar Chandrahas Rai B. delivered the welcome and introductory speeches.

The fact that the participation and response of people was good is enough reason to host many more such programmes and not let this language fade away
