Udupi, March 24, 2016 : A man said to be mentally unsound was  reportedly thrashed by the owner of a bar after tying him to a pole for allegedly trying to  break the local of the bar located near the city bus stand. The incident took place on t he night of March 22.


mentally unsound was  reportedly thrashed It is said the man who was earlier working for a hotel near Chittaranjan Circle was removed from the job after he had  all of a sudden started behaving queerly.

Once earlier, the locals had even handed him over to the police  for creating nuisance.


The police had later released him after realising that he was mentally ill.

It has been gathered that following Tuesday night’s incident, some locals were trying to get him admitted to Vishwasada Mane of Shankerapura which helps in rehabilitating mentally ill people.
