Three kids riding scooter illegally meet with tragic end

Kasaragod, July 20, 2014 :A ghastly accident between a scooter and a car at Nellikunje near Kasargod July 19 tragically took away the lives of 3 kids.  The kids are said to be identified as Muhammed Sajad (14), son of Nellikkunnu Muhammed, Afrak (7), son of Nellikkunnu Afroz and Mubaris (9), son of Muhammed. The two-wheeler collided at a car at Nellikkunnu junction. The unfortunate boys are said to be cousins, whose fathers worked in the Gulf.


accident in kasaragod It is reported the scooter was ridden by Sajaad, without licence, with the other two boys riding pillion. The scooter crashed into the car near Nellikunje junction. The impact was such that the boys were thrown on to the road.

Sajaad died on the spot. The other two boys who were rushed to Kasargod government hospital by the locals and are said to have breathed their last later. The bodies were shifted to the mortuary at Kasargod general hospital.

Sources said that there was an Iftar party for relatives planned at Sajaad’s house and he was sent out to buy some groceries and items. The boy took the scooter, with his cousins riding pillion.

Sajaad’s family resides in the Gulf and had come down here for Ramadan. His father returned to Dubai after week and was supposed to return for Id-ul-Fitr. Mubasir was a student of fifth standard in a school at Nellikunje, while Afrath was studying in second standard at K S Abdullah English Medium School. Kasargod town police have registered a case and further investigation is expected in the case.
