Speaking to reporters here on March 28, Tuesday, Palemar also accused the ministers from the Congress of giving false promises on the issue and misleading the people.

Further he said the government has decided to shift the existing market place to another place which is a Gomala land, i.e. land earmarked for grazing cattle. The government has not bothered about this, he alleged and added that it has also not taken the pains to know if the upgradation works  of the market in its existing place have commenced.

He said though a proposal for Rs 120 crore was submitted during his tenure, the same was rejected.  As many as   87 shops in the existing market have been shifted to the  Kendra Maidan at Suratkal, which is  Gomala land and demanded that no activity must be permitted in a Gomala land.

Corporator Tilak Raj and Ashok Kumar were present.
