Sullia: Woman Congress leader, husband stabbed by a youth

Sullia, April 30, 2014 : A youth stabbed Congress leader Waheeda Ismail and her husband Ismail Neluamajalu, at Gandhi Nagara in Sullia on Wednesday. The injured couple have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.

According to the police, the accused is MR siddiq of Bellare. Personal rivalry is said to have led to the stabbing incident.

 

 

It was said that Waheeda had come to attend Minorities Society Administrative Board meeting along with her husband. Ismail was waiting for Waheeda in a shop near the Society. After the meeting, when she was coming near her husband, the accused came and started stabbing Ismail. When she tried to prevent him from stabbing, the accused stabbed her as well.
 
The local youth caught hold of the accused and was handed over to the police.
