Several injured as express bus rams against lorry near Mukka

Mangalore, July 1, 2013 : Over 10 passengers travelling in a private express bus travelling on way to Mangalore from Manipal sustained injuries when the bus hit a lorry in its bid to overtake another vehicle near the Mukka check post on June 30, Sunday evening.

Even the driver of the lorry sustained serious injuries in the mishap. His leg which had got stuck in the vehicle and locals had a tough time in getting him out of the vehicle.

Luckily the passengers of the bus sustained minor injuries and have been admitted to a nearby hospital. The front portion of the bus as well as a part of the lorry was badly mangled in the mishap.

Reckless driving on the part of the express bus driver is blamed for the mishap. Suratkal police have registered a case.
