Set up Niddodi project over my grave: Abhaya openly challenges govt

Moodbidri, Feb 11, 2014: If at  all the government is determined to implement the proposed Niddodi project despite opposition by locals, let it do so over my grave, said a visibly upset  Abhayachandra Jain, State Minister for Youth Affairs and Fisheries.

The Minister who spoke to reporters at Moodbidri on February 10, Monday said so when scribes wanted to know his reaction to the determined efforts of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to go ahead with the project.

Abhayachandra further said he will not allow the project to come up till his last breath. The Minister also  openly aired his resentment against the Chief Minister on the issue when he questioned if at all the CM knew where exactly was Niddodi located.

He also urged the opponents of the project to step up their efforts to persuade the authorities to drop the project.

Abhaya also informed that Rs 13.68 crore has been sanctioned for Moodbidri under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
