Rachana to host ‘Magnet-2014 in city on April 6

Mangalore, Aril 3, 2014 : Rachana, a Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be organising Magnet-2014 a world convention of Mangalorean Businessmen and Entrepreneurs on April 6 at the TMA Pai International Convention Centre in Mangalore, said Ivan D’Souza, President of Rachana.Among other things, Magnet 2014 aims at providing a platform for a mutually beneficial business interaction  between Mangalorean businessmen and entrepreneurs across the world.

Addressing the media at Bishop House on April 3, Thursday, Ivan said the global convention will be addressed by as many as 12 eminent leaders and speakers from across the world. Mangalore Bishop Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will inaugurate  the convention.

The key note address will be delivered by Richard Saldanha, former president of Delhi Chamber of Commerce and Industry who is also the former chairman and CEO of Unilever (Peru).

The event will also feature a mini exhibition of industrial products. There will also be a cultural event followed by a gala dinner, informed Ivan.

Rachana has constituted a 20 member organising committee led by Walter D’Souza  as its Chairman. Water is the  Chairman of Federation of Indian Export Organisations-Southern Region and is also a known entrepreneur.

Magnet also aims to provide impetus, motivation and support for 100 new catholic entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses and also to create a corpus for a "Rachana Venture Capital Fund" and the "Rachana Industrial Credit Cooperative Society" to boost entrepreneurship in Mangalore.
