Mangaluru, April 8, 2016: Police who are investigating into the case of murder of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga, have launched a manhunt for the arrest of NaMo Brigade (now Yuva Brigade) Founder Naresh Shenoy alleged to be the prime suspect in this case. Already, a look out notice has been issued against Shenoy in all major airports of the country to prevent Shenoy from escaping abroad.
It may be recalled here that the Police who had raided the residence of Shenoy at V.T. Temple Road a few days after the murder, were not able to trace him. Meanwhile, two police teams had also left for Goa and Andaman islands in search of him but of no avail.
Meanwhile, some sources say Naresh Shenoy has already filed an anticipatory bail plea in the state High Court. Some reports even suggest that a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against him. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard as to yet.
Police who have already arrested two persons said to be the contract killers who executed the murder plot, have launched a dragnet for Srikanth and Shiva alias Shivu also said to be accused in this case. Srikanth had reportedly contacted Shivu to engage the contract killers. It has also been gathered that a person named Vignesh who also is an associate of Naresh Shenoy had arranged a Qualis car to facilitate the escape of the murderers soon after the crime on the morning of March 21.
In the mean time, Prof. Narendra Nayak, National President of Federation of Indian Rationalist Assn. claims that the investigation is being delayed by the police as per the instruction of the Home Minister, Parameshwar. He says, that the culprits have sought the help of famous Astrologist, Chandrashekhar who happened to be very close to the Home Minister.
