Puthila Parivar merges with BJP ahead of Lok Sabha elections

Mangaluru, March 17, 2024: Following nearly a year of political divergence, the Puthila Parivar formally amalgamated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday, March 16.

Arun Kumar Puthila established the Puthila Parivar after his unsuccessful bid for a ticket in the 2023 Assembly elections. Despite contesting independently from Puttur in 2023, he secured the second-highest number of votes in the constituency.

In a ceremony held at the BJP district office, Arun Kumar Puthila and his supporters wholeheartedly embraced the party.

Satish Kumpala, the BJP district president, warmly welcomed Puthila by presenting him with a party membership form and a saffron shawl. Notable leaders from Puthila Parivar, including Prasanna Martha, Umesh Gowda, Anil, and others, also joined the BJP during this event.

Addressing the gathering, Satish Kumpala underscored the imperative of unity within the party and the resolution of any past discrepancies. He proclaimed that all future endeavors would be conducted under the BJP banner, leaving behind the identity of Puthila Parivar.

Kumpala encouraged everyone to strive for the victory of the BJP candidate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections of 2024 and to support the re-election of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Arun Puthila, expressing his unwavering dedication to the party’s cause, affirmed, "I am an RSS worker, and my allegiance is with the BJP. My decision to join the party is not motivated by aspirations for any official position but by my commitment to supporting Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for another decade."
