Mangalore, May 19, 2014: Over 100 persons benefitted from a dental check-up and oral cancer screening camp conducted at the St Joseph’s High School Bajal on May 18, Sunday under the joint auspices of NSS unit of Nitte University and Buntara Sangha, Kankanady. As many as 30 people donated blood as part of a blood donation camp organised on the occasion.
Dr Murali Mohan, NSS Co-ordinator of Nitte University inaugurated the camp and was all praise for the organisers of the camp. He said donating blood is equal to gifting life to an individual.
Ajay Kumar, Chairman of the Health Division of Red Cross Society of India, Ramachandra Alva, President of Kankanady Buntara Sangha, Naveen Chandra Semitha and Ramesh Shetty, Vice Presidents were present as chief guests.
A book named ‘Rakta Daana-Jeeva Daana’ highlighting the significance of blood donation and authored by Dr Murali Mohan was distributed to the participants on the occasion.
