Mangalore, April 3, 2014 : The Congress which had promised to cancel the Self Assessment Property Tax as well as the single site approval system, has failed in keeping up its words, alleged former minister J Krishna Palemar.
Addressing press persons on April 3, Thursday, he rubbished the allegations of the Congress that he has done nothing during his ministership. Countering the allegations, Palemar claimed that he had taken up progress works amounting to nearly Rs 500 crores and that there are documents to prove the same.
Alleging that the cases of cattle trafficking, communal tension etc have seen a spurt under the Congress rule, Palemar also referred to the Derlakatte incident. That nearly 86 cases of cattle smuggling have been registered in a single police station reveals the gravity of the situation, Palemar said.
He accused Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava of misusing public funds by awarding road tarring contracts to his relatives.
He further said the CRZ notification issued by the government has created problems for fishermen and others residing along the shore line.
Pratap Simha Nayak, District BJP President, Umanath Kotian and other leaders were present.
