Mangalore, May 01, 2014: Senior Congress leader  Janardhana Poojary has said that he will not allow the Niddodi thermal plant to come up  whichever government comes to power at the Centre.

 

Speaking to reporters here on May 1, Thursday, Poojary while referring to the controversy that has sparked up now over the chief minister’s letter to Union Energy Minister, said the letter was written a year ago and that the CM has not communicated with the Union Minister since then.

He said the project cannot come up without the consent of 80 per cent of the people  of Niddodi.  Stating that Narendra Modi is not fit to occupy the post of prime minister of India, he said he has succeeded in making Modi accept his marital status. “But that is not enough and Modi should now even bring back his wife home after accepting her.

Referring to the Kabeer shoot-out case, Poojary  said whoever is proved guilty should be punished and added that no  one has the right to kill anyone.

Poojary has also demanded stern action against  those responsible for the Brahmarakootlu toll gate vandalism.

Ivan D’Souza, Kodijal Ibrahim, Suresh Ballal and other party leaders were present.
