Mangalore, Feb 20, 2014: The Mission Kalady to Kedar of the Faith Foundation aimed at reviving the Sri Adi Shankeracharya Samadhi Sthal and idol at Kedarnath which was devastated by unprecedented deluge last year, arrived at the Sri Venkatramana Temple at Carstreet in Mangalore on February 20, Thursday as part of its mission to collect holy soil.
The team collected soil from beneath Tulasi plants at the Temple. The team is led by Col. Ashok, Chairman of Faith Foundation. The Temple Trustees Jayaraj Pai, Adige Balakrishna Shenoy and others were present during the visit of the Kaladi to Kedar delegation.
The journey had begun on February 14 at Kalady in Kerala, the birthplace of Adi Shankeracharya. The journey will cover 20,000 kms when the team will traverse various states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh before reaching Uttarakhand. The team is expected to reach Kedar on June 15.
