Mangaluru, Feb 19, 2024: Karnataka Bank, the premier private sector bank of the country celebrated its centenary at a glittering ceremony held at the TMA Pai International Convention Centre in Mangaluru on February 18, Sunday.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar who was the chief guest of the occasion, said the state government was committed to provide all support to Karnataka Bank.

Srikrishnan H, Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank in his address, said the bank’s market cap has increased and is closer to Rs 10,000 crore.

He said the newly opened centenary building of the bank has two museums. Of them one  depicts the journey of the bank in the past century and also has rare documents and pictures. Another museum is all about banking in the next 100 years.

A Rs 100 coin was released to commemorate 100 years of existence of the bank. A postal stamp and special postal cover were also released.

A total of 15 new branches were inaugurated through virtual mode to mark the centenary celebration.

P Pradeep Kumar, Chairman of Karnataka Bank, in his address said the bank is all set for the future and has registered good progress over the years.

S Rajendra Kumar, Post Master General, Karnataka Circle, Sekhar Rao, Executive Director of Karnataka Bank and others were present.
