It may be recalled here that a youth named Harish was stabbed to death near BC Road on Thursday.  The District Administration has already declared a holiday for  educational institutions. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 are also in force.

Meanwhile, there are some stray incidents of creating road blockades by burning tyres at Ullal, Padua and Bikarnakatte.

Police have stepped up security across the city as well as the district to avert any untoward incident.  They  are also seen  warning the public  through public address system  against gathering in large numbers in public places.
