Police had taken Shetty who was undergoing treatment at  a  private hospital in Puttur since the past one and a half months, into custody after getting him discharged and had brought him to the Bantwal Town Police Station.    Before producing him before the magistrate at the latter’s residence  the same night , Shetty  was  subject to a health check at the Bantwal Government Hospital. When doctors realised that he had a blood pressure problem he was offered  treatment at the spot.

On Friday, police took him to Wenlock again when it came to light that he had blood pressure and some heart problem . He was admitted to Wenlock soon after.

On June 13 Shetty was allegedly stabbed by Khaleel and others when he had been to the hospital   that day to get medicines. Later a complaint and counter complaint was lodged.  As the court did not grant Shetty anticipatory bail in connection with the case, he was arrested on Thursday.

Circle Inspector M S Prakash has informed that the accused has been produced before the court and was  later  admitted to hospital for five days of treatment as per the court orders.
