Mangaluru, July 29,2017: Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader Ratnaker Shetty who was recently arrested in connection with the Kalladka incident has been admitted to the Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru by the Police on Friday morning.
Police had taken Shetty who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Puttur since the past one and a half months, into custody after getting him discharged and had brought him to the Bantwal Town Police Station. Before producing him before the magistrate at the latter’s residence the same night , Shetty was subject to a health check at the Bantwal Government Hospital. When doctors realised that he had a blood pressure problem he was offered treatment at the spot.
On Friday, police took him to Wenlock again when it came to light that he had blood pressure and some heart problem . He was admitted to Wenlock soon after.
On June 13 Shetty was allegedly stabbed by Khaleel and others when he had been to the hospital that day to get medicines. Later a complaint and counter complaint was lodged. As the court did not grant Shetty anticipatory bail in connection with the case, he was arrested on Thursday.
Circle Inspector M S Prakash has informed that the accused has been produced before the court and was later admitted to hospital for five days of treatment as per the court orders.
