Mangalorean kid Nesar wins 2 medals in Karate championship at Colombo

Mangalore, June 20, 2013 : Nesar Amin, a third standard student of Yenepoya School, Jeppinamogaru has won two medals in the International Karate Championship organised  in Colombo. Nesar bagged silver in the Kumite division and bronze in the Kata category.


Nesar Amin 1Dr  CK Manjunath, Principal of Yenepoya School informed that Nesar had  participated in the under 10 category.  He said a total of 450 students from eight nations had participated in the event. India was represented by 31 Karatekars including 13 from Karnataka and three from Dakshina Kannada.


He said Nesar who is practising Karate since the past two years, is a Yellow Belt holder in Karate and is being trained by Nadeem and Sarfaraz.


Nesar’s parents Ravindra Poojari, Maithri and his Karate instructors were present at the press meet.
