Mangalore: Undue haste to alight from moving bus claims youth’s life

Mangalore, May 15, 2013: A young man lost his life in his haste to alight from a moving bus on May 15, Wednesday near Baikampady. It is learnt, the youth jumped out of the bus only to get crushed under its rear tyre.

The identity of the man is not known, however his age is estimated at around 25. The route no. 13 A (Annapoorneshwari) bus was operating on the Kunjathbail-Katipalla Kaikamba route.

It is learnt, the youth was in great haste to alight even before the bus reached the spot. The bus almost dragged his body for about ten feet before it came to a halt. Panambur police have registered a case.

I agree with Amaresh and people should ensure their safety while traveling.

The administration is also responsible for these kind of deaths, according to my recommendation it should be made mandatory to all the buses to have hydraulic doors and the buses should not move unless the doors are closed and the doors should not be opened until the bus has stopped fully.
