Mangalore, Dec 15, 2013: The Run for Unity organised in the city on December 15, Sunday  to mark the death anniversary of Sardar Vallababhai Patel saw the enthusiastic participation of thousands of people both young and old.

 

The Run was organised by the Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel Metal Collection Committee to collect iron metal for the Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel’s 182 meter statue proposed to be built in Gujarat.

The Run was organised by the Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel Metal Collection Committee to collect iron metal for the Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel’s 182 meter statue proposed to be built in Gujarat.

The two km long rally was flagged off at Dr Ambedkar Circle by Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP and  Ganesh Rao, Chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges.
 
Dr Y Bharath Shetty,Convener of Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel Statue Metal Collection Committee, Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Pratap Simha Nayak, District BJP President,  Monappa Bhandary,MLC, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, M B Puranik,  Nagaraj Shetty and several leaders participated in the rally which concluded at Nehru Maidan.

All participants of the rally won certificates.
