Mangalore: 155th birth anniversary of Kudmul Ranga Rao celebrated

Mangalore, June 29, 2014: The 155th birth anniversary of Kudmul Ranga Rao, a renowned social reformer, was celebrated at Town Hall in the city on June 29, Sunday under the aegis of the District Administration, Mangalore City Corporation, DK Zilla Panchayat and Department of Social Welfare. DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the programme.

In his address, he said Kudmul Ranga Rao was a great personality who fought for the cause of the depressed classes and helped them lead a life of self-respect.

There is a need for each and everyone to derive inspiration from the life of such great personalities and work towards a society free from exploitation, Rai said.

A.B.Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Ajith Kumar Hedge, MCC Commissioner, Mahabala Maarla, Mayor, Dr Prashanth, Assistant Commissioner, Moidin Bava, MLA,Satish Kumpala, ZP Vice President and others were present.
