Karkala, Mar 28, 2014:  Karkala police who have continued their search for explosive materials stocked unauthorisedly in various parts of the taluk, have traced  raw materials used for explosives worth Rs 4.8 lakhs at Ashoknagar in Kalya village on March 27, Thursday. This is the fourth day of the operation. Police have also seized a pick-up vehicle.

The seized goods included 25 boxes of electronics detonators  stored in a rubber estate owned by Biju Thomas. It is learnt, Biju who had purchased a total of 40 acre of land in Kuntadi Ashoknagar had stocked  explosives at two separate places. On March 26, police had seized huge quantity of explosives in  one part of this plantation.
