Huge drugs haul : Cops arrest four traffickers with 10 kg ganja

Mangaluru, Nov 06 2019:  In a major drugs haul, the city police have arrested four persons near Thokkottu and have seized 10 kg ganja worth Rs 2 lakhs from them.

 

 

 

Informing this to reporters at his office here on November 6 Wednesday, City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha said that accused were found transporting the contraband. A Hyundai car worth Rs 2.5 lakhs, a scooter worth Rs 50,000 and three mobile phones have also been seized from them.

Those arrested are Aboobakker Samad (24) of Kasargod Kodlamogaru, Muhammad Ashraf (30), Muhammad Afrid (22) and Muhammad Arshad (18) of Kadambar in Kasargod. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Mnagaluru South sub-division ACP Kodandarama, the Commissioner informed.

The Commissioner said  the police are investigating the background of the  accused and warned that no one  involved in drugs trafficking will be spared whoever they may be. The Commissioner also  asked bus drivers to be cautious while accepting covers or parcels to be handed over to  others enroute.
