Fr. Muller’s Organizes 3-day Heath Exhibition ’Arogyotsava’

Mangalore, Nov 3: Fr. Muller’s will organize “Arogyotsava,” a comprehensive 3-day health exhibition in the premises of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions, Kankandy, from Nov 6, Friday. V Ponnuraj, the district commissioner, will inaugurate the exhibition on Nov 6, Friday.

Addressing press people at a press conference organized today, Fr. Partick Rodrigues, the director of Fr Mullers, said that the purpose of the exhibition is to enhance awareness among the public on various healthcare issues and prevention of common diseases. He also said that the exhibition is organized as part of the decennial year celebrations of Fr. Muller Medical College. The exhibition will make these celebrations more meaningful because its purpose is public service; moreover, the exhibition will deal with almost every aspect of heath and healthcare.

Arogyotsava is the first exhibition of its kind in Mangalore, which is based on a healthcare theme. The various parts of the human body, the causes of various diseases, and so on will be dealt with at the exhibition. Curious visitors can not only get answers to their queries from specialists, but also obtain health education material at the venue. Visitors can also get a blood test done for sugar level and for determination of blood group. In addition, the exhibition will feature stalls offering fun-filled games. 

The exhibition will comprise 50 stalls dealing with health-related products, services, and subjects. There will be video presentations, seminars on health-related topics, charts, power point presentations and much more. The public will be entertained and informed with on-the-spot quiz contests with attractive prizes, skits, and puppet shows. 

People can visit the exhibition on Nov 6, 7, and 8 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors can enter the exhibition near Mahaveer Circle Pumpwell, where another entrance to the campus of Fr. Muller is located. Students up to the pre-university level are allowed entry free of charge.

Fr. Denis D’Sa, the administrator of FMMC; Fr. Stany Tauro, the administrator of FMMCH; Dr. B Sanjeev Rai, the convener of the exhibition and chief of medical services; Sr Jacinta, the principal of Fr Muller College of Nursing; Dr J P Alva, the dean of FMMC; and Narasimha, the in-charge of media relations, were present at the press conference.
